Sunday

As I open the glass doors
to a scent of rain spreading
through the sunlight,
I was welcomed by gray clouds floating
above my roof.
Should I shut these doors and take a bubble bath?
Will it make those clouds go away?
Maybe I cleanse my ears with soft foam of soap then
nurture my tan skin with warm water.
The scent of smoke from across the hall
the black ant from yesterday crawls frantically
in the depths of my carpet as it tries to capture a piece of bread crumb
has soothe me enough.

I’ll stay here for a while.
