Hints

She likes looking at
buffed-up, pin-up models
So he regularly goes to the gym
as an official member

She wants somebody
who can train a dog, loves a dog
So he bought a year-old bulldog
on the same day

She prefers watching
movies and shows with dramatic scenes
So he rents a couple of her favorites
and watches them religiously

She admires someone
who is intelligent and a gentleman
So he checks out every academic book
and opens doors for everyone, especially her

She loves the color purple
from violet bikes to lavenders
So he bought her a purple bike
with a bouquet of lavenders-- just because.

She loves the taste of smoke
flowing to her lips
So he lights two cigarettes
for a day or two

She ends up
loving a man-- exact opposite from her taste
So he ends up watching her
from a far

Pondering if all he did for her
meant something.
Wondering if he'll do this again
with another girl...

Pretty Blue~

Flashing blue lights...
A sign from God?
Is he telling me to look for the stars
where my dreams are laid out
like a blue print to my success?
A sign for help?
Is somebody in danger?
Is this person too weak to find aid?
Why at night?
The blue lights...
Flicker in my favorite shade of blue
So mesmerizing to look at...
Better than staring at blue trucks all day.
But why is it flashing?
....
Oh, it's just a police car...
Wait what.

A Gift and A Curse

*Disclaimer: This poem was written during the summer of 2013.

The Dog
was walking back home
holding three sacks of gold coins
to buy herself
a new toy or something pretty

Along the way
She encounters a hairy pig
Who was crying.
When their eyes met,
The hairy pig pleads,
“Please lend me a sack of coins!
I need them for my wife’s health!”
Feeling sympathy,
She gave the pig her first sack
The pig smiles and scurries away

Before she moved on,
She meet a dainty mouse
Who looks down
as if someone ruined her day
The mouse asks kindly,
“Can you please lend me a sack of coins?
I need them to buy books for school!”
Wanting to help,
The dog gives the mouse her sack
The mouse snickers and runs off

With only one sack left,
She encounters a jittery snake
with eyes as wide
as Chinese dragon’s eyes.
He hissed nervously,
“Please lend me a sack!
I need them to buy fresh bread.”
Avoiding the word “no”,
The dog gives the snake her last sack.
The snake grins and undulates away

Sighing happily,
The dog heads to the village
As she reaches home,
She sees familiar faces…

The swine, now drooling,
Uses his sack to be
with exotic cats.
The rat, now wicked,
uses her sack to win
more gold coins.
The viper,
blending in the dark alley,
uses his sack
on a different sack
Filled with white powder

Bewildered by the scene,
the dog wonders,
“Did I do a good deed?”
